PROBATIONARY PERIOD EXTENSION
Congress should pass legislation to allow federal agencies the flexibility to extend the probationary period for employees entering the civil service to two years from date of hire.
Congress should pass legislation to establish and fund initial and ongoing mandatory training requirements for all managers and supervisors across the federal government. This will better equip our next generation of leaders to encourage effectiveness and motivate superior performance.
FERS SERVICE CREDIT
Congress should allow Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) employees to make deposits for non-deduction federal service performed, in the same manner as Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) employees and former military personnel.
FEDERAL PAY RAISE
FMA is calling for a fair pay raise for federal employees, with the traditional pay parity with the uniformed military, in 2022.
